 Pentagon Papers Legacy and WikiLeaks

Brian Lehrer, of WNYC radio, interviews James Goodale on the 40th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on the Pentagon Papers. 

James Goodale led the case for The New York Times in 1971 and won.  This First Amendment decision will hold forever:  the government cannot restrain the press from publishing (censorship).

Pentagon Papers Panel Hosted by CJR March 16, 2010
The Columbia Journalism Review hosted a performance of the play TOP SECRET: The Battle for the Pentagon Papers by Geoffrey Cowan and Leroy Aarons, originally produced by LA Theatre Works in 2010.

After the play, a talkback panel took place on stage between Nicholas Lemann, James Goodale, Leslie Gelb and Daniel Ellsberg.
